Barratt Jelly Spogs, formerly known as Jelly buttons (and also Horse Cakes). Soft and chewy aniseed-flavoured jellies covered in trademark pink and blue sugar balls. An English institution and a favourite part of Liquorice allsorts.

250g or 500g in a resealable pouch.

Barratt & Co. was established in London in 1848 by George Osborne Barratt. By 1906 it was the largest confectionery manufacturer in the world, employing 2,000 people and producing 350 tonnes of sweets a week.

Ingredients

Sugar, glucose syrup, maize starch, water, beef gelatine, aniseed oil, fruit and vegetable concentrates (Blackcurrant, carrot), plant concentrate (Spirulina).

We will then include a written note in the box with the liquorice sweets (and no receipt!) - it is as simple as that!

Free shipping

Free UK Delivery when you spend £25 (After discounts applied). 

For international orders and sub £25 UK orders we never charge excessive amounts for postage and packaging. Our P&P charges are made up of the Royal Mail charge for the service plus a small contribution towards the packaging materials, plus VAT, which we are legally obliged to charge.

Same Day Dispatch

We aim to ship all items as soon as payment is cleared. This means that items ordered and paid for by 12 noon (UK time) Monday-Friday are dispatched on the same day. Items ordered and paid for after 12 noon or over the weekend are sent on the next working day.

Pre-order Products

Occasionally we may offer products available for pre-order e.g. advent calendars. For these items, we take payment and dispatch once they are in stock with us in the UK. If you check out with both pre-order and in stock items in your basket, shipping will be calculated separately for those in-stock items and they will be dispatched immediately.

Standard / Free UK Delivery

As standard, we ship using Royal Mail 48 (Second class) delivery service which is a 2-3 working day service (approximately).

Please be aware that delivery to certain UK postcodes will take longer due to their remote locations. We cannot be held responsible for delays as a result of sending to these destinations. 

Express UK Delivery - DHL

Upgraded delivery via DHL Express is available to delivery addresses in England & Wales and offers a next business day service.

Express UK Delivery - Royal Mail

Further UK destinations are available for express delivery via Royal Mail Special delivery. This offers next business day delivery to UK mainland but has the following limitations for some harder to reach areas.

International Delivery

International shipping costs are calculated at the point of sale and depend on location, total shipping weight (Including the packaging) and the best pricing we can obtain from our shipping partners. We currently ship to Europe (Max 2kg), the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (Max 10kg). Weight limitations are imposed on us by our shipping partners and include the weight of all shipping materials.

If you want us to ship to a destination country other than these (and the UK),  please just get in touch we will see what we can do to help.  

International Taxes & Importation Fees

British VAT (at 20%) is not charged on any purchases with delivery destinations outside of the UK.

Additional VAT, duties, tariffs and customs clearance fees may be due at the destination country to enable customs release and delivery.

If you order Products from our site for delivery outside the UK, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties, taxes (Such as VAT) and customs clearance fees. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

Additional payments may need to be paid to the relevant authorities at the country of destination, including VAT, duties, tariffs and customs clearance fees.

Please note that we are legally required to declare the correct value & country of origin of all products as this is used to calculate the tax and any tariff duty due.

Packaging 

We ship all of our liquorice in boxes to ensure it arrives undamaged and in pristine condition upon arrival. Wherever possible, our liquorice is shipped in letterbox friendly packaging.

The majority of our postal packaging is made from recycled materials and 100% of it is recyclable. Once you have received your liquorice, we encourage you to help us protect the planet by recycling it.

For freshness, the liquorice itself comes in variety of packaging, depending on supplier. Once you have finished enjoying your liquorice, please dispose of it in an appropriate way, following any recycling guidance listed on the packaging.

To minimise potentially unnecessary paperwork, we don’t include an invoice/receipt with the delivery but a link to a printable copy can be found on your order confirmation email.

When i was a kid these were the only ones i would eat out of Liquorice Allsorts. These are perfect in every way and my friends enjoyed them too. Great value and good service too.

Hello. We get these from Barratt. Allsorts of producted by a range of manufacturers, some use these and others don't - it varies.
